Today, adidas TERREX announces its latest partnership as the official technical sponsor of RMB Ultra-trail Cape Town (UTCT).

In a significant move to deepen its commitment to trail running and the vibrant communities that support it, the multi-year sponsorship builds on the momentum of last year's successful collaborations with the Cape Town Trail Marathon and the Otter African Trail Run, underscoring adidas TERREX's dedication to supporting trail events and communities in South Africa.

"We are delighted to announce our partnership with RMB Ultra-trail Cape Town as the official technical sponsor. This collaboration signifies our commitment to supporting trail running on a global stage. RMB UTCT stands as a beacon of the sport's international competition, embodying the spirit of adventure and exploration intrinsic to trail running and we are thrilled to stand alongside participants as they challenge boundaries and uncover the majestic beauty of Cape Town's trails,” said Carla Murphy, SVP/Global General Manager, adidas TERREX.

"This partnership really unifies adidas TERREX and the trail running community in South Africa. There are so many incredible trails here and each year RMB Ultra-trail Cape Town continues to deliver an exceptional event for those involved. With our announcement as the lead technical sponsor, we’re confident that this year’s event will provide a remarkable experience for the entire community and we can’t wait to see how the event unfolds." said Kate Woods, Senior Brand Director at adidas South Africa.

The partnership between adidas TERREX and RMB Ultra-trail Cape Town underscores the growing popularity of trail running as a sport and the importance of collaboration between brands and events to support athletes and promote outdoor recreation.

Stuart McConnachie, RMB Ultra-trail Cape Town race director, said “We are very excited to welcome adidas TERREX on board for the RMB UTCT. This partnership is a significant milestone for our event, solidifying its position on the global stage and ensuring an even more memorable and impactful experience for participants.”

South African locals, Toni McCann and Bianca Tarboton are among adidas TERREX athletes who will take part in the races and are hoping to have great success. This year, athletes will be racing in the soon-to-be-released Agravic Speed Ultra, an innovation-packed shoe, powered by race-winning technology, built to give ambitious trail runners the extra edge in ultra-long range trail races.

Bianca Tarboton, a member of the adidas TERREX team, said, "It’s always exciting to be competing on home soil, but seeing adidas TERREX sponsoring a local event on a global level is truly a humbling experience. This sponsorship will help to showcase the talent and dedication present in our region, which is great as RMB UTCT is extremely representative of the inclusive and diverse trail-running community worldwide. I'm proud to be part of a moment which celebrates the achievements of athletes from all corners of the globe but also allows us to represent our local roots."
