Dell has announced its continued momentum in providing EMEA enterprise customers with future-ready technology. The company explained that, as technologies and IT are increasingly able to give businesses a competitive advantage, CEOs are turning more toward CIOs as the new business experts. With this in mind, Dell has worked closely with its customers across the region to ensure that the right technology and expertise is provided to meet current and future needs.

As businesses prepare for future demands, Dell’s goal is to avoid a split between new and traditional technologies by focusing on compute-centric and software driven models. By combining emerging software-defined data centre technologies and new infrastructure hardware designs, Dell aims to deliver a future-ready approach that will help its customers be workload-ready, virtual-ready, big data-ready and cloud-ready. This model is already proving successful in EMEA, with many customers taking advantage of Dell’s expertise and offerings to prepare for future demands now.

“We believe that one unified strategy for improving structure, workloads and experiences means better outcomes across the board. Our work with customers to date has demonstrated the strength of this strategy and we look forward to deploying it further across the region,” explained Claire Vyvyan, vice president, Enterprise Solutions, Dell EMEA.

Cinesite, the London based award-winning VFX company, needed a vendor to work alongside its team to update and rejuvenate its infrastructure away from a physically confined data centre. Cinesite chose Dell to deploy the latest future-ready servers, networking and workstation solutions and tackle the physical restrictions through secure, ‘always-on’ and sustainable co-location facilities. As a result of the collaborative partnership, Cinesite has enjoyed increased business and technical agility with greater scope for creativity in the face of shrinking production schedules.

“IT underpins everything we do at Cinesite. One of the key responsibilities of my job is to remove technological restrictions and provide the Directors with options that allow them to expand the Group as their business demands require. Our partnership with Dell, alongside their investment, has empowered me to do just that,” stated Christian Perschky, head of systems technology, Cinesite

Aubert, a leading retailer in France, worked with Dell to develop a software-defined strategy, creating a hyper-converged solution based on Dell XC Series appliances with Intel Xeon processors for web-scale IT. Aubert wanted to make its business more agile to drive continued growth, and it required an IT solution that would enable greater operational flexibility. By working with Dell, Aubert has increased staff access to business data by 83 per cent, website visitors are able to load pages twice as fast, and the business can scale to handle data growth of 20 per cent per year.

Nspyre, a leader in technical automation services in the Netherlands, wanted to future proof its IT by deploying a flexible solution that could support innovation and deliver greater value to the business. Nspyre worked with Dell to deploy an end-to-end solution, including Dell PowerEdge servers with Intel Xeon processors combined with Dell storage, networking and software, across its multiple sites. As a result, the organisation has seen a drop of 50 per cent in total cost of ownership, a 300 per cent rise in processing power and 10x more storage capacity to support future growth.

“Nspyre is a dynamic business and there’s high demand on our IT. We need to help staff be at their best. Performance was falling. This was mainly to do with the age of the technology. Plus, people were beginning to complain about key applications running slowly. We wanted to overhaul the entire infrastructure and future-proof our IT. There was good collaboration between the Dell team and our IT administrators. Dell not only helped deploy the infrastructure, but it also provided full knowledge transfer for our IT staff to begin managing the solution,” expanded John Schouten, ICT Manager, Nspyre

"Our approach to future-ready IT is evolutionary. You can begin optimising with Dell at any point in your journey, anywhere in your IT set-up,” concluded Vyvyan.
