Entrepreneurs have the ability to innovate in challenging times. While the education system is falling apart, Cognition.Online is revolutionising the tutoring industry, connecting students and tutors in a unique way.

There was a buzz at the Digital Education Show Africa recently when Cognition.Online showcased its latest app, now coined the Uber of private tutoring. The company was represented as one of the few featured start-ups at the Show.

Cognition.Online director Kyle Dodds says it allowed the team to network with various influential people in the education industry including CSI executives from various blue chip companies, government officials from the Department of Education and delegates from various educational institutions.

"Everyone saw synergies in what they were offering and our soon to be launched CSI program that will reach underprivileged children. This was one of the big interests as well as our ability to distribute educational content to students in need," he explains.

This app comes at a perfect time when the country's failing education system desperately needs innovation to transform it. Cognition.Online had the opportunity to present to the public, media and educational officials on the impact that two-sided marketplaces such as our own can have on education and with the aid of corporates, how this extends to those who can't afford private tuition.

"The response was overwhelming and few could believe that this was entirely developed in South Africa as well as funded solely by ourselves. Our team brought a certain youthful energy to the show that was thoroughly enjoyed by the organisers and people involved," he concludes.
