Gaming rigs are a speciality of Evetech and their AMD Budget gaming rig delivers a capable level of gaming performance that is suited for budget conscious PC gamers.
Motherboard and Processor
The rig is build on a solid gaming foundation courtesy of its AMD 790GX Chipset Black Series DDR3 motherboard with the processing side of things handled via AMD’s respectable Athlon II X2 250 3.0 GHz Dual-Core CPU. This system ran smoothly during the benchmarking and was super quiet as well.
Connectivity options are well catered for with this gaming PC, as it sports Gigabit LAN (Broadband Ready), support for six Serial ATAII (SATA) 3.0 Gb/s devices, six USB 2.0 ports and an external SATA (eSATA) port.
Components
Memory wise Evetech has provided 2 GB (1 x 2 GB) of DDR3 1333 MHz RAM and it also boasts a Seagate 250 GB SATA 2 7200 rpm HDD, 24x Dual Layer DVD +/- writer as well as integrated 8 Channel HD sound card. These are all housed in a stylish Cooler Master Elite 310 case which uses a Cooler Master 550W PSU.
RAM will probably be the first component on this rig that will be upgraded, seeing that it comes with only 2 GB worth of RAM installed and there are three additional 240-pin DDR3 DIMM sockets on the motherboard.
GPU
Taking care of graphical processing is the HIS ATI Radeon HD 4850 which features 1GB of DDR3 RAM, making sure that your rig is more than capable of supporting most titles at respectable settings. This GPU is not future proof however, since it doesn’t offer DirectX 11 support.
Like its counterpart from Nvidia, the GeForce 9800 GTX, this is a mid range graphics card that offers some respectable bang for your buck.
