Well that was quick. It was around this time last week that Consumer Reports' negative review of the Tesla Model 3, and its braking capacity in particular, prompted the electric carmaker to roll out an update to improve the braking power of their flagship vehicle. True to their word, Consumer Reports gave the Model 3 another chance to undergo testing and prove that the braking power of the vehicle was up to industry standard, with the company now deciding to endorse the EV.

It's not the first time that these two have been at odds over one of Tesla's cars, with the Model S suffering a similar bad review from Consumer Reports. What makes this episode so interesting though, is the fact that Tesla was able to address the issue so quickly thanks to a simple over-the-air update. It's something that director of auto testing at Consumer Reports, Jake Fisher was also surprised by. "I’ve been at CR for 19 years and tested more than 1000 cars and I’ve never seen a car that could improve its track performance with an over-the-air update," says Fisher.

Tesla co-founder Elon Musk is also pleased with the recommendation, noting that more updates for the Model 3 are on the way.
