Arguably the most important week in gaming each year, E3 2018 kicks off later this week in Los Angeles, California. The annual expo will see juggernauts like Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo try to steal the limelight from one another as far as hardware goes, but will also see a number of developers bring their latest gaming titles to the fore. Focusing on the latter, these are some of the biggest games what we can expect to debut at E3 2018.  

Fallout 76

Teased last week, Fallout 76 will likely be the biggest title that developer Bethesda showcases at E3 this year. With fallout 4 delivering on the promise it showcased, it's time for the next installment in the franchise to do the same. For now definitive details on the game are unknown, but murmurings suggest this will be an online heavy version of things, with talk of the Fallout 76 focusing more on life inside the vault like the popular Fallout Shelter mobile game did. 

Anthem

E3 2018 is not the first time that Anthem will grace the stage in Los Angeles, with several early looks at the Destiny-rivalling title from BioWare being seen previously. Hopefully this year will promise more in the form of a deep dive into gameplay and perhaps an official launch date. With Destiny unable to satisfy gamers in terms of a steady stream of content, BioWare can learn from its competitors mistakes with Anthem.

Battlefield V

Yes, EA and DICE's next title Battlefield V has already been announced, but E3 2018 will allow the developer and publisher the chance to showcase more of the gameplay that this WWII first person shooter has in store. When the reveal trailer for the game first debuted two weeks ago, it garnered plenty of dislikes (75k at time of writing) for some reason, maybe this week's expo will give gamers a chance to rethink their initial thoughts on Battlefield V.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Lara Croft is back once again for Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The game is set to launch in September this year, so E3 2018 will likely givers an opportunity to see just what Square Enix have done this time round for the Tomb Raider franchise. With the two previous next-gen console titles impressing immensely, we're expecting much of the same this time round, with beautiful environments, sharp gameplay and a iconic protagonist.  

Assassin's Creed Odyssey

We know next to nothing about this latest Assassin's Creed title, other than it being set in Greece, and by the looks of the teaser that Ubisoft shared last week, somewhere in Sparta. After Origins helped to breathe a bit of life into the franchise, our only hope is that Ubisoft takes its time with Odyssey and ensure that the game is as finely polished in terms of gameplay, as its cutscenes normally are.

Beyond Good and Evil 2

Another Ubisoft published title, Beyond Good and Evil 2 (BGE2) has been some time in the making. A couple of months ago, some behind the scenes footage of the navigation and weapons gameplay that'll be part of BGE2 emerged. We're hoping that E3 2018 will provide an even deeper look at how the game looks, as well as a possible release date for us to get anxious about.

Death Stranding

What is Hideo Kojima's game Death Stranding about? We have absolutely no idea, which is part of the reason why we're so eager to play it. To date we've seen Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead) crying and fighting for survival from invisible beings, Guillermo del Toro (The Shape of Water director) holding in baby in a glass jar and Mads Mikkelsen (Doctor Strange) leading a supernatural special forces group. As such, E3 2018 could be the stage where Death Stranding begins to make more sense. 

The Last of Us: Part 2

Naughty Dog knows how to make games with a great narrative, it started with their Uncharted games and continued with The Last of Us. Now we're getting a second installment, with two teasers surfacing in the past year. It's more than likely that this week will see a fully fledged trailer see the light of day, where Naughty Dog can tell us how Joel and Ellie have evolved since the first game, as well as what the post apocalyptic story of The Last of Us: Part 2 will focus on.
