Smartphones have come a long way over the last few decades. Gone are the monochrome screens backlit by a sterile white hue or the tiny no-frills displays many phones had in the late ’90s and early 2000s. Today, smartphones come packed with pixel-dense screens that far surpass the first phones to use the Android OS. Amongst these technological innovators is Samsung, providing fully-immersive experiences and impressively detailed displays – all on show in the Galaxy A33 5G and Galaxy A53 5G.

Super AMOLED is AWESOME

What does AMOLED, or Active Matrix Organic Light-Emitting Diode, actually do? This AWESOME display technology in these amazing Galaxy A devices, ensure your screen consumes less power, provides more vivid picture quality, and renders faster motion response as compared to standard display technologies. Super AMOLED, on the other hand, is a more advanced version and integrates touch-sensors and the actual screen in a single layer.

Samsung incorporates this intelligent display technology with the Galaxy A53 5G’s 6.5-inch1 FHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O display. The display feature doesn’t only carry the Super AMOLED benefits, but also offers a cinematic experience for movies, games, and puts more in view when you're browsing the internet or checking social media. The Galaxy A53 5G also enhances outdoor visibility with up to 800 nits while effortlessly reducing the harsh impact of blue light.

With a 6.4-inch2 Infinity-U Display, the Galaxy A33 5G does sport a smaller viewing area – but not by much. You can still experience the same vivid, high-definition and true-to-life colour that you get with the Galaxy A53 5G, the display design is just slightly different.

A Refreshing Response

The refresh rate of your display refers to how many times per second the display is able to draw a new image – the faster the refresh rate, the smoother the viewing experience. You can now enjoy the benefits of a hyper-awesome refresh rate, designed to make every experience better. The Galaxy A53 5G comes with a refresh rate of 120Hz, ensuring a silky-smooth viewing experience with less blur, more details, and vivid contrast. This makes it perfect for gamers, binge-series watchers or tech enthusiasts.

The Galaxy A33 5G has a slightly slower refresh rate, coming in at 90Hz. This refresh rate is however more-than-adequate for day-to-day users enjoying an immersive gaming escape during their lunchbreak.

Protect Your View

What is a super innovative display if there are cracks in the technology? The Galaxy A33 5G and Galaxy A53 5G are both protected by the tough-as-steel Corning® Gorilla® Glass 5. Tried and tested, this glass may come across as thin, but has far more damage resistance than previous versions. In addition, these devices are also rated IP673 for water and dust resistance, meaning more peace of mind when you head outdoors.

With all this viewing pleaser, Samsung has still taken affordability into account, with the Galaxy A33 5G available at a recommended retail price of R6 999and the Galaxy A53 5G at R8 9994. Click here for more info on these must-have devices.
