Aptronics has been reappointed to the State Information Technology Agency (SITA) Server and Storage RFB 2003/2014Transversal Contract. This will allow it to participate in tenders for IT contracts from SITA, all government departments and other state entities at a regional and national level.
As a result of the accreditation, Aptronics will be able to provide data centre infrastructure solutions (hardware and its related software, including data backup and archiving) throughout the Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.
“We are pleased to be back onto this transversal contract and are looking forward to delivering successful projects for government entities again,” says Aptronics COO Bhupesh ‘Nick’ Dahya. “We have a proven track record of effective government projects and our experience allows us to deliver real value to the public sector.”
The accreditation comes on the back of a successful night at the HP Partner Awards, where Aptronics walked away with several honours. These include HP Enterprise Group Platinum Partner of the Year, HP Enterprise Partner of the Year and HP Servers Partner of the Year.
Sibusiso Gcabashe, Aptronics Public Sector Account Manager added that Aptronics brings additional value to the public sector through its premier partnership status with a number of global ICT brands offering a diverse range of integrated solutions.
Dahya believes that projects driven by service delivery requirements represent the future of public-private sector partnerships. He points to their ability to drive down costs while enhancing government’s ability to deliver quickly and securely.
“In our previous engagements with the public sector, we’ve seen the positive impact of infrastructure projects deployed based on solid analysis of service needs,” says Dahya. “By working closely with government departments in developing and implementing the right managed services model, we can enhance their ability to deliver services to the people of South Africa.”
In concluding, Gcabashe agreed, saying that Aptronics is delighted to be back on board: “It will offer us the opportunity to re-energise our strong relationships with key public sector clients and bring Aptronics’ own special brand of expertise and know-how to bear on the challenges faced in the sector.”
