Canon Europe, world-leader in imaging solutions, has today announced three new binocular models with 10x, 12x and 14x magnification levels. The new range is the first to feature Canon’s new ‘lens-shift’ Image Stabilizer (IS) system offering users higher optical quality and a more stable viewing experience.

Renowned for its optical expertise and extensive EF lens range, Canon is the only manufacturer to provide Image Stabilizer technology across the entire binocular range, setting a significant benchmark in binocular technology. Users are given a premium experience when spotting and observing wildlife, sports or the outdoors over long or short periods of time.

All three models newly include two modes of Image Stabilizer operation. The Standard IS mode reduces handshake while the user is spotting their subject; once the subject is acquired Powered IS mode provides a rock-steady view. Powered IS corrects larger degrees of the user’s motion associated with both breathing and slow but exaggerated movements which can occur when observing wildlife over long period of time in a fixed location.

Even at a 14x magnification, the impressive shake reduction effectively increases resolution and clarity of view. Eye strain and fatigue which can be experienced without the benefit of a stabilised view are significantly reduced with the new range.

The three new models provide a range from 10x to 14x magnification giving users a choice; whether observing air shows from a greater distance or watching nature when a wider field of view may be required. With a minimum focus of approximately 2m, each new model is ideal for if your subject suddenly moves to a closer position; allowing users to continue observation and maintain focus.

Maintaining colour accuracy and contrast, Canon’s Super Spectra Coating is used to truthfully represent the subject, allowing the observer to fully appreciate the vivid colours and contrast of the subject. The combination of a field flattener lens and Porro II prism optics render a high resolution and low distortion image across the entire field of view so that users witness superior detail from the centre to the edge; offering the perfect view.

Designed for comfort and easy handling 10x, 12x and 14x32 IS include a discreet non-reflective rubberised outer coating and offer space to grip and hold easily whilst out exploring. The buttons for switching between Image Stabilizer modes are uniquely shaped and positioned by the index finger position to aid accurate operation for users wearing gloves.  Users can enjoy 10 hours of continued stabilised use so any pair in this range can accompany users on treks through woodland or over difficult terrain.

As the first Canon binoculars to incorporate the latest Image Stabilizer system clear observations are made easier than ever before, opening the way to a new and unprecedented experience. The integration of Canon’s EF lens Image Stabilizer technology, and the quality of Canon optics, gives users the clearest view; seeing really is believing with the new Powered IS range.
