Canon Europe, leader in imaging solutions, will be showcasing its latest Healthcare IT and Digital Radiography (DR) solutions at Europe’s largest radiology event, the European Congress of Radiology (ECR) in Vienna (1-5 March 2017).

For the first-time, Canon’s new line-up of flat panel detectors will be on display at the show1. Visitors will see the ultra-light and improved ergonomic design, which is due to a new carbon fiber housing that ensures tremendous weight reduction, increased durability and improved water resistance. The new design will help reduce the physical burden on healthcare professionals and enable them to deliver patient-centric care safely. The detectors also now include a built-in memory (up to 99 images) and a “ready push-button” for manual selections on the spot.

Peter Blonk, Head of Medical Imaging Group, Canon Europe, comments, “We are thrilled to be back at ECR and look forward to discussing the momentum of healthcare technology with experts from across Europe. Technology has a key role to play in making healthcare efficient and we will be demonstrating our unique radiography solutions which help medical professionals work more efficiently and provide a positive impact on the quality of care patients receive.”

Additional highlights on display at the Canon booth this year include:

  • DelftDI Trauma DR Plus – a versatile solution for use in trauma and emergency care. The solution has a large display and provides high efficiency thanks to its RIS integrated workflow. Easy manual positioning with motorised support for Z-movement means faster operation, and precise repositioning can be made around immobilised patients. In a time sensitive environment, the DelftDI Trauma DR Plus contributes to faster diagnosis and treatment.
  • DelftDI Mobile DR – a battery-powered digital radiography system, enabling quicker examination of patients in any situation. The ultra-compact design and motorised, collapsible column provide a clear view for the user when driving the unit to and from patients. When coupled with Canon’s wireless flat-panel detectors and CXDI Control Software NE, it offers the ultimate mobile X-ray imaging technology.
  • DelftDI Zillion PACS – a high performing image archiving and communication system that is highly scalable and flexible to suit the functionality of the hospital environment. The solution is applicable for all imaging and reading environments, helping to increase productivity and customer service by decreasing report turnaround time.

All Canon solutions are designed to empower healthcare professionals to perform at their best and improve workflow efficiency, while ensuring compliance. In addition, Canon’s innovative imaging technologies enable practitioners to push the limits of radiology, with fast throughput, lower doses, and a true focus on patient-centric care.
