Ideally suited for home, home office and small business environments, Cell C has five new promotional contract LTE packages to its offer consumers.

“Our efforts over the last few years have been focused on rolling out a highly-advanced data network offering LTE and LTE-Advanced services to keep up with the growing demands of a connected South Africa,” says Cell C CEO Jose Dos Santos.

Cell C has over 2200 LTE base stations across the country and offers LTE-Advanced coverage in three major metro areas including Cape Town, Pretoria and Johannesburg.  Investment in LTE and LTE-Advanced continues in Kwa-Zulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, Limpopo and other regions and will be completed in due course.

“More of our customers are now benefiting from very fast LTE and LTE-Advanced data speeds and are consuming more data than ever before.  With this in mind, we have developed new LTE data products to allow our customers to use more data for less,” says Dos Santos.

Cell C is entering the market with its first range of broadband offers, designed specifically for the home and home office as a fixed broadband alternative. The new LTE Power Plans include the LTE Power Plan 15GB at R299 per month, the LTE 25GB for R499 and the LTE 50GB for R699 per month – all coming in at under 2c per MB.

For big data users, Cell C has launched the LTE 100GB and the LTE 200GB packages for R999 and R1499 respectively. In simple terms, customers will be paying less than 1c per MB.

“Cell C is constantly looking at ways to ensure customers retain the best value, even if they are using far more than they did before. In addition, the rollout of Fibre to the Home has been slow and we wanted to provide a viable fixed mobile solution to customers who are not yet connected to Fibre or ADSL,” says Dos Santos.

While the LTE Power Plans are 24-month contracts, should a customer wish to cancel for any reason, only 30 days notice will be required.  No cancellation fees will apply.

Customers who want to take up one of the LTE Power Plans can see if they are in a Cell C LTE area by visiting the Cell C website and checking the LTE Fixed Home Office coverage map. The LTE products are designed as a fixed LTE solution and will be restricted to LTE data usage only. Customers will not be able to use the product on Cell C’s 2G or 3G network or make calls using the LTE Power Plan products.

Cell C is also adding a new promotional prepaid data product to its range of SmartData plans for customers who require more flexibility. The Giga200 comes in at R1599 once-off or under R8 per GB and will provide the customer with 200GB of anytime data on any of Cell C’s data networks, valid for 1 year.
