adidas's off-road arm, TERREX, has unveiled four new additions to its speed focussed Agravic range, each built to meet the varied demands of the ever-growing trail running community.

Leading the launch is the brand’s most advanced trail racing shoe, the Agravic Speed Ultra 2, the follow-up of last year's Agravic Speed Ultra. First revealed in Chamonix in the France Als this summer, the model has been designed specifically for ultra distance trail competition and refined with input from some of the world’s fastest athletes. adidas notes the update brings improvements in cushioning, comfort, grip and energy return.

The Agravic Speed Ultra 2 features enhanced foam for maximum cushioning, using an updated softer Lightstrike Pro midsole combined with an exaggerated rocker shape and energy rods. The result is a smoother ride with increased energy return to help runners stay efficient over long distances, says adidas. An upgraded Continental outsole with longer 3 mm and 4 mm lugs delivers better traction across a wider range of terrain. The upper has also been reengineered to offer a more secure fit and improved stability, particularly around the heel.

Speaking about the refreshed Agravic line-up, Tom Louage, Global Sr. product director Footwear adidas TERREX, said, “We know that trail running means different things to different people. For some, it may mean running fast across ultra-distances whilst for others, it could mean speed on those everyday trail runs. With our new-look Agravic range, we wanted to take our existing models including the race-dominating Agravic Speed Ultra and push the boundaries further to create products that match the needs of trail runners looking to go faster.”

Joining the Agravic Speed Ultra 2 is an all-new design, the Agravic TT. Created for technical trail racing, it is built to handle rocky routes, steep descents and unpredictable surfaces with a broader base for stability and a dual layer midsole using Lightstrike Pro and Lightstrike+ for improved cushioning and durability. A supportive upper, rock plate and multi directional lug pattern complete the technical set-up.

The Agravic Speed 2 focuses on short distance competition where every second counts. It is adidas’ lightest trail racing shoe to date and has been pared back to the essentials for greater agility. A redesigned upper boosts stability while reducing weight, and a lower profile Lightstrike Pro midsole with a Lightstrike rim keeps runners close to the ground for fast, controlled movement.

Rounding out the collection is the Agravic 4, a training model developed with elite athletes but intended for a wide range of runners. It uses softer Lightstrike+ foam for better cushioning during long sessions, while a protective mesh layer keeps debris out without affecting comfort. The upper has also been softened and refined to improve fit and maintain stability where it is needed most.

adidas notes adiClub members will receive early access to the Agravic Speed Ultra 2 from 2 December for a limited time via adidas.co.za/trail_running and the adidas app. The global release is scheduled for February 2026, at which time the remaining models in the range will also launch.
