Herbert Smith Freehills has launched a free online digital law course to give up to 1000 students an inside look into how technology is transforming the role of lawyers.

The course, which requires no prior knowledge of either technology or law, consists of three interactive one-hour sessions that shine a light on the cutting-edge work that future lawyers can expect to do at a leading international law firm.

Attendees will hear from Herbert Smith Freehills' digital lawyers about how emerging technologies like blockchain and artificial intelligence are impacting the legal advice they give and the way they work. The course covers news-topping technologies including cryptocurrencies, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), connected and autonomous vehicles (CAV) and smart legal contracts.

Registration for the course opens today (4 October) (https://hsf.com/digital-law-course) and closes on Wednesday 20 October, with sessions taking place on Tuesday evenings on the 2nd, 9th and 16th of November. Students who attend the course also have the opportunity to win a two-day work experience with Herbert Smith Freehills' digital lawyers.
