World leading Chinese electronics manufacturer, Hisense, has officially entered Zambia. At a gala event held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Lusaka, Hisense launched a new range of class leading smartphones, televisions and fridges into the country. Zambia now forms part of 15 African countries where Hisense has an established presence, with the brand being known for high quality products that offer superb value for money.

With over 25 years of experience in the Zambian market, local company, Hazida Limited has been selected as distributor, with all major retailers set to stock Hisense products.

Speaking at the event, Hisense’s Deputy General Manager, Mr Pedro Teixeira, noted the importance of the Zambian market. “Zambia has been on our radar for a long time and we are proud to be able to officially launch our product range locally. I urge customers to compare the value for money offered by Hisense products against other brands, I’m sure they will be pleasantly surprised to see what Hisense has to offer,” Li Teixeira said. “There is a particularly good opportunity for our TVs in the market as our pricing is very competitive,” he explained.

On display at the event was Hisense’s new range of Ultra LED (ULED) televisions, which provides superb picture quality, a high dynamic range with enhanced 3D dimming and peak brightness of up to 550 nits. Attendees also had the opportunity to interact with Hisense’s range of smartphones and the various refrigeration models.

Speaking on behalf of Zambian distributors, Hazida Limited, Riaz Mulla believes that Hisense is set to make a big impact locally.

Over the past ten years, Hisense’s importance on the continent has been firmly established, with African factories located in South Africa, Egypt and Algeria. Hisense has also established an export division to cater to Southern African countries. The export division is slated to serve Madagascar, Ghana and the Seychelles as well as Zambia, while it is already exporting products to Namibia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Zambia, Botswana and Lesotho. Worldwide, the company employs 75 000 people, with a presence on all continents and headquarters located in Qingdao, China.
