OPPO today announced the launch of Reno7 Z 5G in South Africa. Reno7 Z 5G is powered by the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 695 5G Mobile Platform, equipped with Bokeh Flare Portrait and Selfie HDR imaging features, and complemented by the industry-first Dual Orbit Lights. Together with OPPO’s signature OPPO Glow design, Reno7 Z 5G is a 5G smartphone with professional portrait photography capabilities designed to capture your diverse lifestyles.

Reno7 Z 5G features a 64MP High-Res Main Camera, a 2MP Macro Camera, a 2MP Depth Camera, and a 16MP Front Camera alongside a series of impressive imaging features, such as Bokeh Flare Portrait, Selfie HDR, AI Palettes, AI Color Portrait, Portrait Retouching and other features designed for creativity.

·       Bokeh Flare Portrait allows users to capture portrait images with rich bokeh light spots just like a high-end DSLR camera. The algorithm distinguishes between the human subject and the background, enhancing the brightness of the subject while automatically blurring the background and boosting the bokeh light spots. It also retouches human hair and shirt details at the pixel level, making them appear exceptionally clear against simple backgrounds.

·       Selfie HDR captures clear selfies in dimly lit or backlit surroundings. The front camera automatically detects background light and utilizes an algorithm to suppress bright light when a backlit face or a bright background is detected, ensuring both the subject and background are captured in beautiful detail.

Multidimensional Design for Every Mood

Continuing the iconic design of the Reno series, Reno7 Z 5G introduces an Ultra-Slim Retro Design and two new colors: Rainbow Spectrum and Cosmic Black.

A three-layer texture and two-layer coating process gives the back cover a matte finish with a glittery appearance. The three-layer texture includes an innermost scattering grain, interlayer of SG grain, and an outermost glossy-and-matte grain. The Reno7 Z 5G is the first smartphone to use this particular spliced gloss and matte textures, which replace the redundant base material typically found around the camera module on other smartphones.

The Rainbow Spectrum color utilizes the two-layer coating technique, featuring the top color gradient coating comprising of red, yellow, and green colors, and a base layer containing a reflective indium coating. Together, these layers create an iridescent, evolving effect of six colors transitioning across the back cover of the smartphone.

Reno7 Z 5G marks the debut of OPPO’s Dual Orbit Lights, which are discreetly integrated behind the two primary cameras. When turned on, the Dual Orbit Lights resemble two heavenly rings descending from the night sky. The Dual Orbit Lights light up or blink in electric blue, light blue, cyan blue or baby blue depending on different scenarios, for example when the phone is powering on, charging, receiving an incoming call or unread notification, as well as launching a game.

Reno7 Z 5G features a new Ultra-Slim Retro Design weighing approximately 173 g, with a thickness of approximately 7.55 mm for the Rainbow Spectrum model and approximately 7.49 mm for the Cosmic Black model. The device includes trendy 2.5D front and back right-angled bezels with a delicate C-shaped frame, giving the phone a super-sleek appearance.

On the front of the smartphone, a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with 60Hz refresh rate delivers a smooth visual experience. Furthermore, the display is Netflix HD and Amazon Prime Video HD certified for playing high-quality video content.

Powerful 5G Performance for Any Occasion

Reno7 Z 5G is one of the first devices to be powered by Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 695 5G Mobile Platform built on a 6nm process. Reno7 Z 5G also features a large 4,500mAh battery and 33W SUPERVOOC_TM flash charging that enables the device to be 100% charged in 63 minutes, or make three hours of calls on a charge of just five minutes.

Reno7 Z 5G comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB ROM as standard. When used with OPPO’s RAM Expansion technology, the smartphone’s original 8GB of RAM can be supplemented with a massive 5GB by temporarily allocating ROM, enabling multiple memory-heavy apps to be run simultaneously with less lag.

All-Round Smoother Experience with ColorOS 12

Reno7 Z 5G is one of the first smartphones to receive the top-level A rating in the TÜV SÜD 36-Month Fluency certification. The certification is conducted by technical inspection association TÜV SÜD to assess the continued fluency of electronic devices based on two or three years of use.

Reno7 Z 5G is one of the first smartphones to come with ColorOS 12 preinstalled out of the box. Air Gestures allow users to answer calls, mute calls, or scroll pages by swiping their hands in the air, while features including AI System Booster, Quick Startup, Game Focus Mode, and AI Frame Rate Stabilizer to provide a seamless and immersive entertainment experience for users.

ColorOS 12 also features Omoji[L2], offering new avenues for personalization with 200+ customization options and real-time facial tracking through OPPO’s advanced Face Capture Algorithm.

Security and privacy are ensured at the operating system level on ColorOS 12 and certified by third parties such as ISO and ePrivacy. Other privacy features include Anti-Peeping for Notifications, which hides detailed notifications if the smartphone detects someone else looking at the phone screen when messages appear.

Reno7 Z 5G will be available in Rainbow Spectrum and Cosmic Black from 05 May 2022 in across participating networks and select retail stores.  The 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM model will be priced at R11 699.
