Local ISP OpenWeb has introduced instant activation and once-off payment options on its Home Capped Unshaped product range. Clients can now purchase a Capped Unshaped account using a credit card and receive their ADSL details instantly.

Most ISP's in South Africa require the activation of a debit order and a whole lot of paperwork in order to get an ADSL data account. With OpenWeb, no cancellation notice period is required, accounts will automatically expire at the end of the month if the once-off payment option is selected.

OpenWeb CEO Keoma Wright says clients will be able to purchase as many accounts as they like and top-up easily from its easy-to-use control panel. “No paperwork will be required, we plan to introduce a range of new features after launching our brand new control panel this weekend.”

The panel was developed from the ground up and boasts a range of features such as management of ADSL accounts, usage stats and graphs, session information, IP address information, changing of passwords and billing management.

Future developments will include a new SuperCharge feature that is soon to be announced. Other features include ADSL Line Management, eMail Mailbox and Alias Management and Custom Email Domain Feature, Gaming Packs and Streaming Packs which can be bolted onto any uncapped account to boost and prioritise performance and loads more.

"We have been working on our new Client Panel called Home for over two years. It would have been easy to simply purchase into a piece of software that offers most of the general required features. However, with the products and features we will be launching in the near future, no single one panel will be able to accommodate us,” Wright explains.

“Therefore we decided to write the entire system from scratch which will allow us to easily roll out our exciting new products and features without much hassle," he concludes.
