Digital transformation that supports South Africa’s Industry 4.0 preparedness, and acts as a catalyst for local economic growth was the key focus for Oracle’s digital day event in Johannesburg. Key Oracle experts and executives from leading South African organizations participated in the event to discuss various aspects of making digital business a reality with Oracle’s unique portfolio of cloud solutions across SaaS, PaaS, IaaS and Dbaas.    

“South Africa is a priority market for Oracle and the annual Digital Day event is in line with our commitment to introduce our latest innovations in South Africa. This year we are showcasing how businesses, small and large, across all industries can gain unprecedented digital value with the most complete, integrated and proven suite of cloud solutions designed to lead in the digital economy”, said Kholiwe Makhohliso, Country Manager and Technology Leader, Oracle South Africa.

Inspiring keynotes from thought leaders at the forefront of driving digital transformation including Michael Jordaan, Innovator, Venture Capitalist, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Montegray Capital; Gil Oved, Serial Entrepreneur and Avi Mistry, Head of the Enterprise Division for Intel, South Africa kick started the daylong event.           

These were followed by exclusive plenary sessions with Thabo Ndlela, Chief Information Officer at Tiger Brands South Africa and Sean Maritz, Chief Information Officer of Eskom Holdings Limited and expert breakout sessions to explore the impact of Oracle cloud solutions across various aspects of business including finance; human resource; marketing; customer experience and supply chain.

Top global and regional executives headlined Oracle’s presence at the event. These included Tino Scholman, Vice President, Oracle Cloud for Europe, Middle East; Marshall Choy, Vice President of Systems Solutions; Robert Manson, Senior Director Cloud Infrastructure; Alison Jacobson, Group Principal Digital Strategist, Dimension Data; Nkosi Kumalo, Senior Director Applications; Pragasen Moodley, Director Oracle University and Karim Mokhnachi, Vice President Marketing ECEMEA.
