The first quarter-final of the @rugbyworldcup was played between the @Springboks and @WelshRugbyUnion. Tipped to be a close and exciting match, fans were not disappointed. Throughout the match rugby fans discussed every exhilaration and emotional moment as it happened. During the match the @rugbyworldcup handle and the official hashtag for the match (#RSAvWAL) and  #RWC2015 were flooded with Tweets about the match progress as well as the players.

After such an exciting game that saw the @Springboks team take the win 23 - 19 , it was the players who not only made an impact on the pitch but also off the pitch, on Twitter. Here are the top three players/coaches from each team that were Tweeted about the most:

South Africa’s top three:

  2. @BryanHabana - Bryan Habana

Welsh top three:
