Africa’s number one satellite broadband provider, Yahsat, has launched a new service partnership with internet service provider iWayAfrica Uganda, to bring satellite broadband connectivity to the country via its YahClick service. Following on the new partnership that was signed during AfricaCom earlier this month, the service was officially launched at an event held in Kampala, Uganda on 28 November, 2015 in the presence of a number of leading industry and government officials.
Speaking at the launch, Yahsat’s Regional Director for Africa, Kevin Viret said: ”We are delighted to launch our new service with iWayAfrica to deliver YahClick’s quality high-speed broadband via satellite to Uganda. We value the local experience iWayAfrica brings to the partnership and, believe today’s launch will help drive reliable connectivity across the country.”
Customers in Uganda can instantly connect nationwide to the internet via a small satellite dish and satellite modem anywhere in Uganda. The satellite technology provides reliable weather-proof internet services, without the need for terrestrial infrastructure.
iWayAfrica Uganda’s CEO, Godfrey Sserwamukoko, commented: “New and existing customers across the country, even in the remotest places, will benefit from our partnership with YahClick. It will enable iWayAfrica Uganda to offer Ka band VSAT connectivity in areas within Uganda that are currently not covered by other service providers.”
