A universal remote to rule them all
By Thomas McKinnon 13 August 2009 | Categories: newsLogitech, it appears, has done it again; made a very useful gadget that costs a small fortune.
The Harmony 900 universal remote comes packaged with an IR blaster and two mini-blasters and has a nifty full colour touch-screen aided by a plethora of backlit hardware buttons.
The IR blasters are great as they allow users to control devices that are hidden from view in other rooms or enclosed in cabinets. You will have to connect to the Internet though to setup the up to 15 devices it supports at a time. You won’t need to buy batteries every other month to power this lord of remotes however as it comes with rechargeable batteries and a docking station.
The remote is expected to land in South Africa in November with a retail price of R4999.99. Yes, we have included the correct number of nines.
