Activision reveals voice talent for upcoming superhero titles
By Hanleigh Daniels 20 July 2011 | Categories: newsActivision Publishing and Marvel Entertainment have announced the celebrity actors that will voice characters in the upcoming Spider-Man: Edge of Time (trailer posted below) and X-Men Destiny video games. The companies made the announcement as a preview to the San Diego Comic-Con 2011 conference, which kicks off today in the San Diego convention Centre in the US.
The Spider-Man: Edge of Time game will feature legendary film actor Val Kilmer as Walker Sloan, as well as Smallville and V star Laura Vandervoort assuming the role of Mary Jane. Katee Sackhoff, better known as Lieutenant Starbuck from the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica television series, will make her video game debut as the Black Cat.
Heroes icon Milo Ventimiglia, Sucker Punch and The Hangover Part II’s vixen Jamie Chung, as well as Friday Night Lights star Scott Porter, will bring three new playable mutant characters to vocal life in X-men Destiny. They will be voicing the characters of Grant Alexander, Aimi Yoshida and Adrian Luca respectively.
“These amazing casts of talented Hollywood actors help bring the rich storylines of Spider-Man: Edge of Time and X-Men Destiny to life,” said Vicharin Vadakan, director of marketing for Activision Publishing.
“Players this fall will get to control the destiny of their own mutants or save Spider-Man and through this voice talent feel like they are part of the action.”
Both games will be playable at this year’s Comic-Con and will be released during fall (spring for us).
