Duke Nukem back in business
By Tom Manners 12 August 2010 | Categories: newsRumour has it that development for the long in the making, often believed to be non-existent Duke Nukem Forever, is enjoying continued development at RPG come FPS masters Gearbox Software.
According to Kotaku the studio, which was responsible for 2009 runaway hit Borderlands, has picked up the title and intends to bring it to shelves globally before long. This would mark the long awaited return of the Duke Nukem character since the classic Duke Nukem 3D was launched in 1996.
It is currently unclear when, or if, the title will be released under the Gearbox Studio name. Duke Nukem forever has been in development since 1997 and has undergone several ownership and rights changes in that time. At present, Take Two interactive owns the publishing rights to the title.
It is expected that if Duke Nukem is released, it will be made available on the PC and Xbox 360.
