EA has announced the latest downloadable content (DLC) pack for SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED, dubbed the Speedhunters Pack (trailer posted below).

This new Speedhunters DLC pack will become available on 17 May and contains two new racing modes, these being Drag and Standing mile. Within the new Drag mode, racers will aim to set the fastest time over a quarter mile stretch, whilst Standing Mile will see them trying to achieve the fastest speed over a mile stretch.

Each branch boasts nine new racing events, which will see gamers being limited to using the manual gear change. Adding to the more realistic feel that the manual-only gear change will bring across, is the fact that the traction control features will be forced off and the head up display (HUD) will sports a new rev counter and gear indicator.

Gamers will also be enabled to customise their rides resulting in engines tuned to push out 1000 horsepower, allowing their cars to reach speeds of more than 250 mph (around 402 km/h).

Besides the addition of the two new game modes, the Speedhunters pack also feature fourteen new cars, twelve of which are specially tuned Speedhunters vehicles. Included in the line-up of new vehicles are the McLaren MP4-12C Speedhunters, Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Speedhunters, and the Nissan Skyline GT-R (R32) Speedhunters. Gamers will be able to race these on one of six newly added tracks set within three new locations, including the Miyatomi Drag Strip, Agueda Aerodrome and Nevada Freight Yard.

Players will be able to purchase the SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED Speedhunters pack starting 17 May for 800 Microsoft Points on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace or $9.99 (about R70) on the PlayStation Network (PSN) if its available by that time.
