By Ryan Noik 23 November 2012 | Categories: newsGTA V may land on PC and Wii U yet
After recently announcing the release info and revealing the first few details of GTA V’s storyline as well as its three playable characters, Rockstar Games has now stated that a Wii U and Windows PC versions of the game has not been ruled out.
GTA V is expected to launch globally during autumn 2013 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but the company has not announced release details or even plans for any other platforms. Although there is still no official announcements for other platforms, Rockstar Games’ co-founder Dan Houser stated during an interview with IGN that a Wii U and PC version of this open-world title cannot be ruled out, since all platforms are “up for consideration”.

Houser also revealed that no motion-based support, either via Kinect or PS Move, is planned for GTA V, as this could make the overall gaming experience “feel disjointed”. Check out the second trailer for the game posted below.
A far cry from a boring FPS
The wait is almost over for FPS fans, as the highly anticipated Far Cry 3 should make it onto local shop shelves around this time next week (originally scheduled for the first week of September).
Far Cry 3 has gamers filling the boots of Jason Brody, who gets stranded on a tropical island. Rather than befriending a volleyball named Wilson, Brody has to pull a Chuck Norris by hacking, slashing, sneaking and shooting his way past a number of unsavoury characters in this savage paradise. For a taste of the combat action that lies in store check out Ubisoft’s newly released weapons trailer posted below.

Humanities last hope
THQ has released the second live action trailer for the upcoming Metro: Last Light, scheduled for release during Q1 2013 on the Xbox 360, PS3, and Windows PC. This trailer tells the tale of preacher who in the aftermath of the blast became a beacon of hope and spiritual advisor to the hopeless citizenry of the Moscow Metro, after initially being thought of as a lunatic wandering the streets preaching doom and gloom.
Although the latest trailer does not (like the first one) reveal much of the storyline of the upcoming FPS title, it certainly has us looking forward to getting out hands on the sequel to one of our favourite games of 2010 - Metro 2033 (review).
New trailer for Aliens: Colonial Marines released
It feels like we have been waiting for ages for Aliens: Colonial Marines, not just since the game’s title was announced back in 2008, but ever since Aliens (the second film in the trilogy) showed us how scarily good a horror sci-fi movie could be.
The good news is that the game has not been ripped apart by a Xenomorph, and is alive, well, and indeed coming closer with inexplicable menace to haunt your dreams.
As proof, Sega has released a new trailer which showcases a Survivor multiplayer mode. The game will hit stores on the 12th of February, for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. In the meantime, feast your eyes on the trailer below.
Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault on Vita delayed
While Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault is releasing next week, the Vita version of the game has apparently been delayed until January next year. This means that those who pick up the latest in the quirky franchise on the PS3 will have to wait a little longer to claim their complimentary downloadable copy of the Vita version.
According to a statement on the PlayStation Blog, the company explained that the delay is due to measures to ensure that the experience is “packed with all the action and polish you’d expect from a Ratchet & Clank game.”
The company also added that as a reward for fans’ patience, players will receive the first piece of DLC for the title, the Mini-Boss Skin Pack, for free with their purchase of Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault for PS3.
This skin pack (shown below) features three fan-favorite boss characters from past Ratchet & Clank games, including Chainblade from Going Commando and the Two-eyed Tyrhrranoid from the superb Up Your Arsenal.
Along with the fact that the Vita version essentially rewards players for buying Ratchet and Clank: Full Frontal Assault for the PS3, it is interesting for another reason: the game will offer support for cross play and cross save, meaning that players will be able to start a game on their PS3 and pick up where they left off on the Vita.
New Uncharted game announced, only card carrying fans need apply
The heart of many an Uncharted fan skipped a beat when a rumour surfaced that a new Uncharted title had not only been in the works but was also close to release.
While a suddenly released full length Uncharted title would have garnered an award for the best kept game secret to date, it was not to be. We have little doubt that for more than a few fans, their anticipation promptly fell off a cliff and ended in a sickening thud when the game was billed as a trading card game for the Vita.
Nonetheless, as card games go, Fight for Fortune looks interesting. Chris Reese, the co-studio director from SCEA Bend Studio, explained that the core gameplay in Uncharted: Fight for Fortune involves creating a team of Faction cards featuring heroes, villains, and mercenaries from the Uncharted universe, then using that team to defeat your opponent while defending yourself from their attacks.
Speaking about the existing Uncharted title on the Vita, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Reese explained that “the rich lore that surrounds the Uncharted universe gave us the opportunity to create Uncharted: Golden Abyss, complete with lush, artifact-filled environments. With over 300 treasures to be found, we wanted to find a way to allow our fans to delve deeper into the artifact collections and mysteries of the Uncharted universe,” he continued.
The new offering, Uncharted:Fight for Fortune, will apparently work together with Uncharted: Golden Abyss, enabling players to use the artifacts they found in the full 3D title in the trading card game.
.
To this end, a new patch for Uncharted: Golden Abyss will power up the artifacts that one collects within that game for immediate use within Uncharted: Fight for Fortune. The game will be available via PSN for about R40 on the 4th of December.
