Lenovo and Intel today announced the Lenovo Classmate+ PC, a notebook with which the companies aim to improve learning for students up until grade eight.
 
This notebook will provide schools with an affordable, child-friendly complete hardware and software solution and will come pre-loaded with the Intel’s Learning Series software suite. The latter is specialised educational software that features a variety of teaching resources.
 
The Lenovo Classmate+ PC operates on Windows 7 Home operating system and runs on an Intel Atom processor. It also boasts Ethernet and Wi-Fi internet connectivity, HDD with a storage capacity of up to 250 GB or solid state drive (SSD) options.
 
These notebooks also sport a 10.1" LED backlit display, a 1.3 MP camera, multiple USB ports and a 4-in-1 card reader to support viewing multimedia.
 
The first batch of these notebooks will be employed by the Organization of Ibero-American States, which will utilise 158 000 Lenovo Classmate+ notebooks as part of its Conectar Igualdad 1:1 computing program.

Pricing and Availability
 
Intel stated that the Lenovo Classmate+ PC is available immediately worldwide to qualified education and government customers via Lenovo sales representatives and channel partners. The prices of the Classmate+ PCs will vary according to the regional taxes and tariffs within each market, as well as the configuration options.
