Following in the wake of Samsung’s launch of its Korean-only (for now) Galaxy SII LTE and Galaxy SII HD LTE, LG Electronics (LG) today announced the Korean market launch of its LG Optimus LTE.

This is LG’s first mobile device to offer 4G connectivity, with the highest resolution IPS display available on a smartphone. The Optimus LTE boasts a  4.5" “True HD IPS” (1280 x 720 pixels) display, which LG says offers “advanced resolution, brightness and clarity and shows colors in their most natural tones”.

It is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor (make not specified) and operates on Google’s Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) mobile operating system (OS). Also onboard is a large 1830 mAh battery, 1 GB of RAM, content sharing to HDTVs and HD monitors via HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) as well as DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance).
