At the recent Consumer Electronics Show (CES), LG Electronics unveiled a large range of new notebook devices, with LG SA today announcing that three of these new devices will be heading to South African shores.

The trio includes the LG P210, LG P420 and the LG A520, three brand new devices from LG which the company says, “brings sleek outer casings and streamlined stylish designs to the market.”

So if you're a fashion conscious computer user, or simply prefer something smarter, the P210 and P420 should appeal in particular. These devices sport lightweight frames and compact, elegant designs with streamlined interior designs which makes them 40% slimmer than regular notebooks.

The LG P210 features a unique white exterior and is equipped with either an Intel Core i3 or i5 Ultra Low Voltage processor and up to 4 GB of RAM. The P420 on the other hand is a substantially more powerful beast sporting a new Intel Sandy Bridge Core i5 processor, up to 8 GB of RAM and a Nvidia GeForce GT520M graphics card.

LG’s new range is headed by the 3D enabled flagship LG A520, which it claims is the world's first notebook with full HD FPR technology. FPR stands for Film Patterned Retarder and is a technology which optimises the separation of images for the left and right eye, making these images much clearer when filtered through 3D glasses. According to LG this will equate in a, “truly outstanding one-of-a-kind portable 3D entertainment experience in display and sounds.”

The LG A520 also features a 15.6” Full HD 3D LED LCD display, Nvidia GeForce GT540M graphics card, Blu-ray drive, Bluetooth 3.0, HDMI and a new 2nd generation Intel Core i7 CPU. The notebook is enhanced even more thanks to its attractive design, available in a myriad of colours.

“The LG P210 recently won an iF award (International Forum Design Award) and the P420 displays yet another LG innovative design. Together with the A520, the 2011 LG notebook range provides professional yet stylish portable technologies with next generation features”, said Dr. Michelle Potgieter, marketing director of LG Electronics South Africa.

The three new notebooks will be available in South Africa from April at Dion Wired Stores nationwide. The LG P210 retails of a recommended R7 499, the LG P420 for R6 499 and the LG A520 for R11 999.
