HP announced the launch of their new All-in-One Deskjet 2050 printing system yesterday.

Like other All-in-One units, such as the Platinum Pro905 and Prevail Pro705 from Lexmark, the Deskjet 2050 can scan, print and copy.

It is the first in a new range of Deskjet printers to support the new HP 122 Ink cartridges, which the company claims offers up to four times more printed pages than its standard counterpart, when using the black ink cartridges and up to three times more pages when using the tri-colour cartridges.

“HP appreciates that the current economic situation has left our customers more cost-conscious,” said David Joseph Ryan, vice president, Inkjet and Web Solutions, Imaging and Printing Group, HP. “The HP 122 ink cartridges work as part of a holistic printing system that is intended to help customers save money and reduce their impact on the environment. HP has re-designed its Deskjet printers to support these new cartridges, offering customers greater choice without compromising on quality.”
