Any business owner can tell you that having a small, capable business notebook at your side is just about the most useful tool in their daily grind. That's why Lenovo has upgraded its ThinkPad Edge line of small business laptops, with the new ThinkPad Edge E420s having landed locally on the 4th of July.

Introducing a number of new features, the E420s sports a stylish and sophisticated design, capable performance and extra features such as Lenovo Enhanced Experience 2.0.

Design is a large part of the new ThinkPad Edge, with the notebook featuring a soft matte finish and real metal accents to make sure your notebook isn't the ugly duckling around the conference table.

You won't get far without adequate performance though, and that's why the Edge E420s also features a 2nd Generation Intel Sandy Bridge processor (available in i3, i5 or i7) as well as Dolby Home Theatre for great audio quality and high definition video conferencing.

Lenovo Enhanced Experience 2.0 functionality also allows for certain models equipped with Rapid Drive technology (and an SSD drive) to boost boot time by up to 30%. Lenovo has also optimised the preload, drivers, and BIOS for a speedier start up.

The 14” E420s is also easy to carry around during your busy commute, being just 25.4mm thin and weighing a paltry 1.8 kg. A spill-resistant keyboard is also on offer to help avoid coffee related mishaps and a DVD reader and writer allows for optical support.

The Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E420s is slated to become available at the beginning of July (a.k.a now) and is available through www.lenovo.com or at major retail outlets. Recommended pricing ranges between R7599 and R8999 depending on which model and features are chosen.
