MTN today announced that the wildly popular Apple iPhone 4 will also be available on their network during the coming months. This brings an end to Vodacom’s exclusivity to the device.

The eagerly anticipated reveal came in the form of a quick and to-the-point media announcement with no information on exactly when South Africans can expect the phone nor how much it would cost.

The iPhone 4 features support for multi-tasking, runs on the new iOS 4 and has one of the clearest displays in the industry. For more details check out our extensive coverage of the device.

With Vodacom recently announcing that the iPhone 4 should be available at the end of September, it’s going to be interesting to see which of the rival operators launches the device first, and how their prices will differ.
