MTN to release mobile assistant in SA
By Tom Manners 23 June 2010 | Categories: newsMTN Business today announced the availability of the Motorola ES400 Enterprise Digital Assistant (EDA) which reportedly helps business users increase productivity and reduce costs.
“MTN is proud to be the first operator in South Africa to offer its corporate customers a new class of enterprise mobile device. This is yet another progressive step for MTN in which we enhance the way our customers use mobile technology,” says Nomalanga Nkosi, general manager, Business at MTN SA.
The EDA is the first Motorola mobile computer supplied as part of an MTN AnyTime airtime package, which gives customers access to a versatile device that meets the needs of the expanding enterprise.
“The new ES400 EDA combines mobility, communications and task functionality without compromising performance or design. It offers essential mobile workforces the ability to take action and capture information with a single click,” she adds.
The ES400 offers a host of features such as one button push-to-scan 1D and 2D barcode reading, one button push-to-talk capability, a 3" VGA screen and an integrated keyboard, 3.5G WAN, including GSM HSPA and CDMA RevA compatibility, GPS, camera and three-axis accelerometer and 802.11 a/b/g wireless support.
At present no release or pricing details are yet available.
