Following Google’s recent release of Chrome 16, Mozilla has made the latest edition of its Firefox web browser available for download (15 MB - Windows PC). Firefox 10 introduces anti-aliasing for WebGL graphics, full screen APIs (application programming interfaces) to run apps full screen, whilst the forward button now also remains hidden until a user navigates back.

Full screen API for websites as well as web applications, enables web developers to construct web experiences that employ the entire display real estate, the likes of full screen games and more immersive video experiences.

Firefox adds support for features that make it easier to build 3D web experiences with open technologies, as CSS 3D Transforms is supported, which lets developers animate and transform two dimensional elements into 3D via HTML5, without the need for plugins.

Anti-aliasing for WebGL is also supported, allowing developers to create objects that blend together and move more smoothly. WebGL is a web standard that enables websites and web apps to display hardware-accelerated 3D graphics, without any need for additional third-party software.

Mozilla also stated that it has enhanced Firefox’s Add-on compatibility, resulting in most add-ons now being compatible with the newest versions of Firefox by default.

In other browser related news Microsoft recently revealed that it will be silently and automatically updating its Internet Explorer (IE) browser on users’ PCs, which are operating on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7, as of this year.
