Pay TV provider TopTV has announced a new addition to its channel bouquet - ASTV, a popular Afrikaans satellite service already enjoyed by thousands of viewers across the country.

 
ASTV was established to provide a service as an Afrikaans television channel for all Afrikaans speaking people in South Africa. The channel focuses on quality family entertainment programs, news and sport that will be shown across South Africa on TopTV’s Variety package (R99 per month). 
 
The channel is a platform that believes it gives to back to the community with job creation, promoting new talent and keeping the Afrikaans culture alive. ASTV will focus on quality entertainment for the family, including actuality, news, sport, reality, documentary, drama, lifestyle and music.
 
Some of the programs viewers can look forward to include Vaskap, Eksie Perfeksie, Kos is oppie tafel, Ons Gesels and Fees Voete. 
 
Jaco Ferreira, managing director of ASTV is excited about the opportunity to broadcast on the TopTV platform. “Afrikaans is in my blood and I'd like to promote our language and culture as much as possible.” He continues “We are very excited to join the TopTV family. It’s a great opportunity for us and we know that the viewers are going to thoroughly enjoy the variety and versatility of ASTV” said Ferreira.
