Numbering your phone models are so passé. Well this according to Sony Ericsson (SE) who opted for some exotic names for three of their new phones. No, they did not quite go all Frank Zappa and name them “Moon Unit” or “Dweezil”, but instead Aino, Satio and Yari. But let\'s not let names distract us from what seems to be three very tasty looking Japanese piggies.

SE Aino
The pick of the bunch seems to be the Aino with its 3\" touch-screen and wireless headset.  It hides two interesting features. Firstly it can control and access media from your PS3 via a local area network, or via the Internet if your PS3 is hooked up. Secondly, it also includes Media Home. When you dock the Aino with its charging station it syncs with the media on your PC via Wi-Fi and SE’s Media Go software. Apart from the touch-screen you also have a slide-out keypad and aGPS. There is no doubt that the Aino is a strikingly beautiful device and should be available this year October.

SE Satio
We recently had the 8 megapixel SE C905 at the office and it left us, well a bit bored really. So we hope the Satio might do better. The Satio crams 12.1 megapixels on its camera sensor and includes autofocus and a Xenon flash. The 3.5\" touch-screen is impressive with a 16:9 aspect ratio, making it ideal for viewing movies. It should also hit our shores in October.

SE Yari
The third piggy, which SE calls the Yari, is all about gesture gaming.  So instead of pressing buttons you move your body to perform actions. We take it that it’s a bit like the Wii, and the Yari does come with a portable phone stand, we suppose to help with keeping your hands free to “gesture”. The Yari also include a 5 megapixel camera and aGPS and it expected to land in SA in 2010.
