Nintendo Wii Supreme
By Hanleigh Daniels 20 December 2009 | Categories: newsA special edition Nintendo Wii, known as the Nintendo Wii Supreme, is now available for purchase for an insane ?299 995 (about R3.67 million).
As you’d expect for that price, it’s packed to the hilt with some serious bling including a body-mould made from 22 carat gold, which by itself weighs over 2.5 kg. The Power, Reset and Eject buttons are inlaid with 78 0.25 carat unblemished diamonds, almost 20 carats all together.
There are only three of these exclusive consoles in existence and according to wiinintendo.net, one of these is owned by Queen Elizabeth II, who was given one earlier this year by game publisher Take Two.
The console took Liverpool based craftsman Stuart Hughes six months to manufacture. If the asking price is a tad out of your range, then you might want to consider some of Hughes’ other offerings, including a carbon-fibre and diamond-studded Nokia phone for ?30 000 (about R367 000). However, if money is no object then you may want to go for the gold and diamond-studded iPhone for almost ?2 million (±R24.5 million).
