At the end of last year Nokia unveiled its Asha family of Series 40 mobile phones, which is aimed at users in the lower-end of the mobile spectrum. Nokia has now expanded this range by unveiling the Asha 202, 203 and 302 during the 2012 Mobile World Congress, currently underway in Barcelona.  

Nokia Asha 302

The Nokia Asha 302 sports a similar design (115.2 x 58.9 x 13.5 mm, 106 g) to that of the Nokia E5 smartphone, coupling a finger-friendly QWERTY keyboard with a 2.4" QVGA (240 x 320) TFT display (not a touchscreen).

This mobile phone is the first in the Asha series (or Series 40-operating device) to provide users with access to Mail for Exchange, enabling them to manage all their corporate emails and synchronise their mail contacts and calendar.

Although users only get up to 140 MB worth of internal phone storage, they are able to expand upon this via the use of a microSD memory card slot that supports cards up to 32 GB in size.
The Asha 302 also features a snappy 1 GHz processor (make not specified), 3.2 MP camera, enhanced stereo FM radio, a music player, as well as 3.5 mm audio jack.

 

Nokia Asha 202

The Nokia Asha 202 (114.8 x 49.8 x 13.9 mm, 90 g) is a dual SIM device, which allows you to swap SIM cards without turning the phone off first. Users will also be able to store settings for up to five different SIM cards by using the SIM Manager, and assign calling, SMS or browsing duties to each SIM.

Nokia’s Asha 202 boasts a 2.4" QVGA resistive touchscreen, 2 MP snapper, stereo FM Radio, as well as Bluetooth 2.1. Users only get a very limiting 10 MB of free phone memory, but as is the case with the Asha 302, they can expand this to 32 GB via the microSD memory card slot.  

 

Nokia Asha 203

The Asha 203 is basically a single-SIM version of the Asha 202, as it features similar design and specs. By employing the onboard Nokia Browser, users can maximise their data usage, since this browser, like Opera’s mini browser, compresses webpages by up to 90% to enable data saving costs and quicker page loading.

Nokia stated that Asha 203 and 202 users will be able to download 40 EA game titles for free, which includes Tetris, Bejeweled, Need for Speed The Run, and SimCity Deluxe.

The Asha 303 has already started shipping, whilst the Asha 202 and 203 is expected to begin shipping during Q2 of 2012. No local release info is available yet.
