Nokia updates its Social app
By Hanleigh Daniels 28 January 2011 | Categories: newsNokia has announced that there is an upgrade available for its Social app (version 1.3) for devices operating on Symbian^3, the likes of the N8 and C7 and C6-01. This app enables social networking integration (Facebook and Twitter) within the latest version of the Symbian mobile OS.
In order to download (3.13 MB) this update, you have to log in to the Social application or widget and you’ll receive an automated update notification message.
Version 1.3 enables some new functionality such as the ability to view your friends’ status updates right from their contact card in your phone book. A linked contacts indicator will also enable you to see which of your contacts (in your phone book) are socially enabled (linked to their Twitter or Facebook pages).
Users will now also be able to upload higher resolution photos (up to 4 MB in size) and add captions to photos. Those who love tweeting will appreciate the fact that you are now able to retweet.
Nokia recently announced the discontinuation of its Ovi Music Unlimited service in a number of countries, excluding South Africa.
