Olympus introduces Pen EPL1 to SA market
By Tom Manners 8 June 2010 | Categories: newsOlympus have officially announced the release of the Olympus Pen E-PL1 to the local market, designed for users who are eager to take high-definition pictures, but are weary of the complexities attached to SLR cameras.
In terms of features the E-PL1 incorporates a 12.3 Megapixel Live MOS Sensor, a 3" LCD screen with a 230k dot resolution and 3 fps sequential shooting into its design. In addition it also includes 720p high-definition movie support with stereo sound, Linear PCM sound recording, optional adaptors for additional lenses and a newly developed GUI for easier operation via Live Control.
Other unique features found in the E-PL1 are an integrated flash, HDMI and USB 2.0 interfaces.
The Pen E-PL1 is currently available in black, white, silver and red configurations. It will be available on South African shelves in June for the recommended retail price of R7 999.
