Race for a million Rand
By Thomas McKinnon 29 May 2009 | Categories: newsThumbWars is Vodacom’s all-new, all-South African reality show, premiering on SABC 2 next week Thursday, June 4 2009.
A bit like Bertram van Munster’s The Amazing Race, the show will see four teams, per episode, of two contestants each race from one intriguing destination to the next for a million Rand.
The big difference, however, is that the contestants are also racing against the clock to solve cryptic clues that reveal their next destination, as the prize money dwindles away. The greatest resource at the disposal of contestants is their Samsung Pixon (read our review) with a full compliment of Vodacom services including GPS, the Grid, Mobile Internet, and Samsung\'s face recognition and music functions.
“Vodacom ThumbWars is more than just a battle between brains, brawn and technological know-how. It is a proudly South African show, which showcases our rich and diverse cultural heritage,” says Samantha Moon co-founder and Director of Stimulii, the creators of the show.
