According to Akihabara News, the hybrid device has been designed to work in conjunction with your Samsung smartphone or tablet, using Bluetooth technology to allow users to access their voice, data, voice search and video features from their smartphone, displaying it alongside normal GPS map data. Your Samsung smartphone will also be able to function as an “advanced” remote control for the device, capable of accessing the device's video and other features when not in use, allowing users to check out a movie when stuck in traffic for example.

Its large 7” display with an 800 x 480 resolution enables the SENS-240 to display all this information, and the device features some strong specs to boot. Being equipped with a 1.43 GHz CPU allows it to render 3D maps as well as being able to support simultaneous playback of audio and video files. 256 MB of RAM, USB 2.0 and an SD Card slot will also be featured on the device.

The SNES-240 definitely seems like an intriguing device, demonstrating once again how different technologies are being melded together into one. Time will tell how useful its features are going to be though. At the moment the SNES-240 is scheduled for release in South Korea only.
