Sony makes PlayStation App available
By Hanleigh Daniels 12 January 2011 | Categories: newsSony has announced that its PlayStation (PS) App (version 1.0) for the iPhone as well as Android smartphones is now available for download for free from the App Store and Android Market.
With this app users will be able to view their PlayStation Network (PSN) trophies and also see the online status of their friends, as well as what games they’re playing.
They will also be eabled to check out all the latest games, news and hardware for their PlayStation 3 (PS3), PlayStation Portable (PSP) and PlayStation 2.
The sharing of favourite products and news can also be done via email, Facebook and Twitter and users will also be allowed to read all the announcements on the official European PlayStation blog.
This app is compatible with Apple’s iPhone and iPod Touch that’s operating on iOS 4 and above and most Android handsets running on Android 1.6 (Donut) and up.
Unfortunately for SA users, the first version (1.0) is currently only available in the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands. Sony is already busy with the next version, which will support most SCEE countries and languages and will also enable users to post comments on the PlayStation Blog.
