The MK7559GSXP, which Toshiba boasts is the industry’s largest capacity 9.5 mm 2.5" HDD, sports a disk capacity of 750 GB. Toshiba’s MK1059GSM offers 1 000 GB (or 1 TB) of storage, thanks to its larger three-platter 12.5 mm platform.
According to Toshiba the MK7559GSXP HDD features an incredible areal density of 839.1 Mbit/mm², making it ideal for mobile applications in which capacity is key, including notebook computers and external HDDs, all-in-one desktops and set top boxes. Sample shipments of both hard-drives will begin in April.
