As of January Vodacom Business customers will see their international internet connectivity (local internet access portion included) reduced by up to half. This is due to increased competition amongst undersea cable providers, leading to a more competitive international bandwidth market in South Africa.

 

This price cut is for both fixed line and wireless connections and makes it more affordable for small enterprises to obtain an internet connection. It also makes for a more reasonably priced internet infrastructure for larger companies.

 

The new Premium and Direct packages for dedicated internet access (DIA) available to Vodacom Business customers, feature a mix of international fibre connectivity options over Seacom, Sat 3 and SAFE (soon over the WACS and EASSy fibre cable systems as well), meaning complete peace of mind if an outage should occur on one or more of these cables. DIA speeds start at 64 kbps and can be increased further according to the specific requirement of your business. You will also be able to increase your internet connection speed on demand, depending on the access medium utilised (for example WiMAX Assured Rate, Satellite or a leased line).
