If you’re in the market for an affordable gaming rig, than Huntkey’s Genisat Entry-Gamer is right up your alley. Packing a second generation Core i3 and dedicated Nvidia GeForce GPU, this rig brings capable performance to the budget crowd.
Huntkey’s Genisat Entry-Gamer chassis (480 x 185 x 415 mm) offers ample space, improved airflow with multiple fan slots and support for a liquid cooling system for a comprehensive cooling system setup, as well as a screwless assembly design that makes it easy to add or upgrade components such as another hard drive or secondary optical drive.
Styling wise, the all black Huntkey T91 Black Gaming Case comes off as very attractive, but does not really stand-out as a gaming PC tower, with only its stencil design ventilation grille on the front panel hinting that this is not just an ordinary PC case.
It must be noted that Huntkey included its 450 W green PSU unit with this gaming case, which will play a role in limiting the upgrade options of this rig in the future. This is due to the fact that top of the line GPUs such as Nvidia's GeForce GTX 680
for instance requires at the very least a 550 W power supply or better.
Capable CPU and GPU duo
Handling the processing and graphics respectively is a dual-core Intel Core i3-2100 CPU running at 3.1 GHz, along with a Nvidia GeForce GTS 450 GPU
(Palit supplied 128-bit card with 1024 MB SDDR3 RAM). This combination is easily capable of running the latest games such as Max Payne 3
and during benchmarking, this duo managed an impressive score of 368 in Heaven Benchmark v2.0, and a score of 10 610 in 3D Mark 2006. A score of 2.82 points was achieved in Cinebench 11.5 CPU testing along with 34.10 fps in this benchmark's Open GL test, whilst a score of 1543.8 was reached within the Passmark 7.0 performance test.
Beyond this capable processor duo, the Windows 7 Professional operating Genisat also offers users 4 GB of DDR3 RAM as well as an ample 1 TB Seagate SATA III 7 200 RPM hard drive with around 915 GB being available to users. In terms of connectivity a useful six USB slots are offered, with two USB 2.0 ports plus another two USB 3.0 slots at the back and two USB 2.0 ports at the front of the tower. Games and software are installed via a HP DVD writer.
Huntkey’s Genisat Entry-Gamer PC packs in a lot of budget gaming value for its RRP of R6 500, with users being able to enjoy the latest game releases whilst also having room to upgrade components later as needed. Available from Incredible Connection.
