Back in 2004 Iomega launched the first of their REV series of backup drives for small to medium businesses. This first version of the drive, with a 35GB capacity was followed in 2008 by the second version with double this capacity.

Backup systems like the REV drives from Iomega are slowly taking over from the slower and virtually outdated tape drives of yore. What makes the REV drives great is that you get all the benefits of a hard disk for storage, with the stability of a tape drive.

The REV drive is divided into a drive bay and a low-cost removable disk. This means that all the sensitive electronic bits (the parts that self-destruct when your hard disk crashes) stay securely inside the drive bay, while the disk platter and motor are stored in the disk.

Another obvious benefit of the REV drive is that you don’t have to buy an entire hard disk when you want to expand your storage. For more info on the Iomega REV 120GB External Backup drive, email info.sa@iomega.com.

PROS
You don???t have to buy an entire hard disk when you want to expand your storage. It is compact and lightweight.
