The invention of the modest pocket is likely the most overlooked of all the great inventions. The pocket is what we like to refer to as a gateway invention. It led to the invention of the pocket watch, the pocketknife, the wallet and bunch of other insanely cool gadgets over the centuries.
In 2009 the great “pocketable” gadget to own is a pocket projector. Adapt, a Netherlands based company dealing with all things mobile, have developed the Mini Projector to fulfill this
insatiable need to fill pockets. The Mini Projector makes use of 3M’s LCoS optical technology allowing it to project an image in size of between 15 and 127 cm.
It offers a 4:3 aspect, 640 x 480 (VGA) resolution, a memory slot (SD/MMC/MS Pro) and comes standard with 1GB of internal storage. With a footprint of only 125 x 55 x 23 mm it really is quite neat. The device also comes standard with a remote, media converter software and a Li-Ion rechargeable battery supporting about an hour of operation.
