On the surface the Epson CX 8300 appears to be just about the same, somewhat unexciting, multifunction inkjet printer, but it really does come into its own when you put some glossy photo paper into the feed tray, delivering outstanding photo prints.

The CX 8300 scans, copies and prints. It can also print off SD cards, a feature that has almost become standard on these types of printers. The CX 8300 is a good printer all round, even in the looks department Epson have done a good job avoiding the traditional asylum beige, opting for a shiny black instead.

Installing this printer is no problem and there is so much software bundled with it, you might not know where to start, but in all fairness, you only need the basic software to make full use of the Epson’s features. The only real flaw is the print time, it must be said that there are faster printers out there, but for the price and the quality results you can’t really go wrong here.

Get it for R1499 (incl VAT) from Computer Corporation on 08616-08616.

PROS
The 6.3 cm LCD viewer is very handy for printing photos on the fly.
CONS
The print time isn???t near as quick as the specs suggest.
