The HTC S740 has a name that suggests it could be a luxury car and, by looking at it, you can assume that luxury is what HTC had in mind when they designed it.

The build quality is superb. This could easily be one of the nicest pieces of hardware we have seen from a phone manufacturer. Most of the body is made from aluminium and the back has a similar look to that of the HTC Diamond.

Unfortunately build quality isn’t everything and a person does start to wonder why the slide-out QWERTY keypad is so difficult to use and the front keypad is so un-responsive.

There seems to be a combination of poor design choice and a processor that constantly seems to be lagging and although the S740 promises a lot and is packed full of great features the implementation of Windows Mobile will not be remembered as HTC’s finest hour.
