As the dust settles from the frantic gaming smorgasbord that is E3, chances are a few games slipped by your radar. Here are 10 awesome E3 trailers well worth watching.

AFRO SAMURAI 2: REVENGE OF KUMA

The first Afro Samurai game, which is derived from the stunning anime series of the same title, let gamers become a Mary Jane smoking, Afro sporting, bloodthirsty samurai warrior, with Samuel L. Jackson taking care of the voice work. 

This follow-up title shifts focus over to Afro's once friend, now enemy, Kuma, a mechanically enhanced warrior with a penchant for teddy bears. Much like the first Afro Samurai game, Revenge of Kuma has a distinct artistic style, and some ultra violent gameplay.

MAD MAX: SAVAGE ROAD

Aiming to buck the trend of mediocre movie to game crossovers, Mad Max: Savage Road has had a few promising trailers debut in recent months. Developers, Avalanche Studios revealed yet another one at E3, where the titular Max, and his adversary, the tyrannical Scrotus square off in Savage Road. As evidenced by the trailer below, Max takes quite a few beatings from him early on. Arriving September 1st, we have high hopes for Savage Road to not fall into the regular movie to video game cliche.  

ASHEN

Along with big titles like Halo 5: Guardians and Gears of War 4, Microsoft seems to be showing indie game developers some love as well. As such, the company's ID@Xbox programme showcased a number of forthcoming games it's helping to bring to consoles.

One of the more interesting ones, was Ashen, developed AURORA44, an open world RPG title where every single choice the gamer makes affects the outcome. Each individual the gamer opts to talk to, or even decides to ignore, results in a change in the storyline, much like real life we suppose.. 

MIRROR'S EDGE CATALYST

Mirror's Edge Catalyst is not a sequel to the original 2008 game, but rather an origin story for the parkour-inspired female protagonist, Faith Connors. It chronicles how Faith became a "Runner" and how she and her compatriots aim to overthrow the Big Brother-esque government that's highly corrupt.

As with the first game, speed and quick reflexes will be key when making your way through heavily guarded buildings and jumping from rooftop to rooftop. If you have a fear of height, than Mirror's Edge Catalyst is not for you, but if you can stomach it, this game looks like great fun. 

DESTINY: THE TAKEN KING

Bungie's promise of rolling out more content for gamers to enjoy post-Destiny has stayed true. To that end, the company unveiled a new batch of content to get stuck into, as well as a new villain for the Guardians to take on - Oryx, otherwise known as The Taken King. 

Oryx has arrived in the Guardian's galaxy, bringing with him the threat of his own corrupted army. As such, it will be up to you, and hopefully a few mates, to put Oryx and his lackeys in their rightful place.  

TRANSFORMERS: DEVASTATION

Forget Michael Bay's insane version of Transformers, and rather turn your attention to the first trailer for Transformers: Devastation. Unlike other Transformers titles, this game goes back to its 80s TV roots, with a cell-shaded look and feel, as well as brightly coloured characters. 

As the name would indicate, the big threat is the Decepticon Devastator, who if you don’t know is made up of several smaller construction vehicle Decepticons. Pretty much a teaser for now, it looks like Optimus Prime and Bumblebee are on the Autobot's side, but hopefully more characters will join them.

CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS III

A bit like Deus Ex, Call of Duty: Black Ops III tackles the subject of technologically enhanced humans, and the supposed threat they pose. While Activision debuted the reveal trailer for the game nearly a month ago, at E3 the multiplayer mode made a welcome appearance. 

In a lot of ways, it looks like Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, but instead of military exosuits, soldiers are sporting far more permanent military tech. As such, the action is in usual COD fashion - rapid. 

DARK SOULS III

The below trailer gives far less detail than any other game on this list, but it's easily the one we want to play the most. We are of course talking about Dark Souls III, which set an ominous tone during Xbox's E3 event when it was announced. 

The game will be available on both the Xbox One and PS4 consoles, as well as PC, with an expected release date in early 2016. 

STAR WARS: BATTLEFRONT

Taking back to some of the most iconic battles in the Star Wars universe, along with the ability to play as some of the most beloved characters from the original trilogy, Star Wars: Battlefront has all the makings of a great First Person Shooter. 

Although the game officially debuted a few weeks ago, EA showcased the game's multiplayer mode at E3, as The Empire attacks the ice planet Hoth. Taking on the role of a Rebel fighter, we get a first hand in-game look at what Battlefront is all about. 

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE

If you're old enough to have played on the original PlayStation, chances are that Final Fantasy VII crossed your path. Now in 2015, Square Enix is doing a Remake version for the PS4. When the Japanese company announced the game, it garnered one of the loudest cheers from the crowd in attendance. 

If the trailer below is evidence of what the real thing will look like, then it's easy to understand why, as it looks simply stunning. As with other Final Fantasy titles, this Remake seems to have highly detailed characters and nuanced environments in abundance.
