Activision confirms Destiny 2 is still on track for a 2017 release
By Robin-Leigh Chetty 10 February 2017 | Categories: newsWhile we've enjoyed the expansions that Bungie has served up for Destiny, we're still hankering for a bit more. So are other fans of the MMORPG title that debuted back in 2014, which is why you'll be pleased to know that publisher Activision has confirmed that the sequel to Destiny is on track for its 2017 release.
They did not give a precise timeline for its debut, but it is believed to be around Spring, placing it in the September/October region. Polygon spotted the news in a presentation made to investors earlier in the week. "Full Destiny sequel in 2017 to broaden the franchise’s global reach, which along with follow-on content plans, sets the stage for growth," noted the presentation.
While full details of what the game will entail were not divulged, it is said that more memorable characters will be added to the fray, along with a more cinematic storyline. If we were to give our notes for the sequel, ensuring that the game is complete in terms of content at launch would be the most imperative. This was something that dulled the excitement for the original game's debut.
